Microsoft to open up motion-sensing Kinect to developers, academics via SDK release
Microsoft plans to open up its Kinect motion-sensing controller for the Xbox 360 up to developers with the release of a Software Development Kit planned for this spring. The Kinect SDK will made available for non-commercial uses (i.e. not game developers), but as Microsoft put it, enthusiasts and academic researchers.
